ALMANAH At A Glance
We are a non-denominational organization that assists widows and are looking to find hope and light in their darkness.
ALMANAH IMPACT FOUNDATION exists to empower and bring hope to widows. Established as an Independent Non-Profit Organization. This Foundation is firmly embedded in the bedrock of experience. From its leaders to its newest member, ALMANAH IMPACT FOUNDATION is a support system for widows
All members of ALMANAH IMPACT FOUNDATIONÂ are essential to our mission and are the lifeblood of what we do. We seek to empower our members through shared experiences. We open the door to a new world for widows, ensuring they do not go through their experience alone, but with life-long connections and lasting support. Each of our encounters and sharing allows us to learn and grow together.
At ALMANAH IMPACT FOUNDATION, we respect everyone’s beliefs and share no specific religious or philosophical ideology. Each woman is encouraged to be just as they are and share from their hearts. We welcome widows of all ages, races, grieving the death of a loved one and from any cause. We do not take sides on political issues or endorse political candidates. We treat each other with care and respect, showing consideration for those with whom we may disagree.
OUR LOGO MEANING
The Hebrew substantive ALMANAH, usually translated "widow," often does not simply denote a woman whose husband is dead, but rather a once-married woman who has no means of financial support and is therefore in need of special legal protection.
The icon represents two things:
- First, the icon is a representation of each of us together, each woman widowed and that common connection.
- Second, the icon represents ALMANAH Impact Foundation as a place of community where we come together, grow together and share our hearts, our pain, our joy, our triumphs supporting and uplifting each other through.
OUR MISSION - EASING THE BURDENS OF WIDOWS
We support widows through the grieving process and beyond by providing life transition resources and immediate connections.
We facilitate the healing process which allows for rebuilding to start from our communities embrace by uplifting and encouraging widows to reengage in life.
OUR VISION: BUILDING COMMUNITY & ENCOURAGING GROWTH
Our vision is to be a strong network of widows – empowering our members through shared experience. We open the door to a safe haven for widows, ensuring they do not go through their experience alone, but with life-long connections and lasting support.

FOUNDER'S MOMENT OF OBLIGATION
Ruth Maame Esi Davis
Founder
Giving to help someone in need has been part of my upbringing and as l grew up, I embraced this act of kindness as l saw the smiles my little gift of love brought to the faces of my loved ones. God being so good I got married to a man who supported and understood me as he was a giver himself, and so he supported me to the best of his capabilities. I started supporting family members, friends, colleagues, and individuals in the church and the neighborhood. It did not end there, I went ahead to support individuals who require not so huge amounts of money. l could use part of my salary to assist them to start up a business. I did all these with my salary and other incentives and help from my husband.
One cold day in February 04, 2018, as fate may have it, I lost my supportive husband. God as usual gave me the energy to do all the funeral rites with my family and loved ones and we gave him a befitting burial. After the funeral rites then reality hit me when l realised everything has changed in my life. This feeling l experienced for some time in all aspects of my life. Fortunately for me, the minister of the church l was attending and still attending; a Very Reverend Minister tried to engage me in lots of church activities and these activities l engaged in, really help me in my grieving process.
Through this grieving process, my attention was drawn to the fact that other widows will be going through a similar situation or the same pain, loneliness, sickness, and any other anguish l had experienced.Â
This got me to think about doing something for other widows, but I didn’t know how to go about it, how to start it, and who will agree to support me. As l was thinking through all the above l was still supporting and providing help when l could.
I have tried in my own way to provide support for widows.
Now my goal is to expand these initiatives and seek support from individuals, and corporate bodies for funding to support this widow’s foundation to bring smiles on their faces, to give health care to those ill and to give a trade so they can support their children and keep these children in school for a better future.
